Analysis
Overview:
The instructional design process typically begins with identifying the instructional goals. Once these goals are identified, the designer can then begin to design and develop learner or performance analysis and needs assessment proposals in order to identify gaps between actual and desired performance.
Competencies:
-
Identifies and uses appropriate data-gathering techniques to gain insight into causes of gaps in performance.
-
Identifies, proposes, and/or selects solutions that are appropriate to closing an identified performance gap, including including non-instructional interventions.
-
Conducts learner/user analysis.
-
Determines the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to adequately perform a specific job, task or role.
-
Determines required resources and constraints for a solution or solution system.
-
Identifies and analyzes relationships of systems and subsystems within an organization, including descriptions of functions, processes and structures.
